OVERVIEW

 

A Program of Adult Basic Education, GED instruction and classes for adult English Language Learners where you can:

  • Brush up on basic skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Prepare for the GED test to earn a High School Diploma
  • Arrange your hours of attendance according to your schedule
  • Improve your English speaking and writing skills
  • Work at your own pace, in a relaxed setting, with material selected for you personally

RESPONSIBILITIES

·   Provides program leadership and supervises staff of 21.
·   Monitors and evaluates the program, and reports data in a timely manner.
·   Manages grant, program, fiscal resources, and human resources.
·   Builds relationships and partnerships with community businesses and  
     organizations; markets program services to build program capacity.
·   Attends scheduled MSDE Administrators’ Meetings and Trainings.
·   Writes and Administers CAELS Grant.
·   Purchases all materials used in ABE/GED/ESOL program.
·   Holds GED Graduation once a year.
·   Provides staff development for Adult Education staff with the Instructional
    Specialist.
·   Oversees payroll for Adult Education staff.
·   Supervises Educational Specialist for Department of Social Services.
·   Answers questions about ABE/GED/ESOL.
·   Advertises the Adult Education program.
